Ofcom’s Age Assurance
Ofcom’s latest age-assurance report says dating services still need stronger entry checks. It expects regular due diligence on verification suppliers, privacy compliance, challenge-age rules and liveness detection. Ofcom also found that more than one in ten 15-to-17-year-olds were still using three major dating apps in December 2025.
Conclusion: age verification should be treated as an ongoing control, not a one-off plugin purchase. Our assessment when searching for a verification product should cover vendor audits, false accepts, spoofing resistance, liveness, data retention and evidence that we can show Ofcom later.
