Erotic Fiction

Submit Your Erotic Fiction

Got a Story With Its Collar Undone?

There is probably a half-written story lurking on your laptop. Perhaps it lives in a folder with an entirely innocent name such as “Receipts”, “Meeting Notes” or “Definitely Not Filth”. Maybe it began as a fantasy, a mischievous idea or one particularly memorable “what if?” that refused to behave itself.

Swingcircles is looking for budding writers to submit original erotic short fiction for publication on the site—and you do not need to be an established author to take part.

We’re looking for stories with a pulse

Erotic fiction can be playful, romantic, funny, tense, tender, filthy or gloriously unexpected. What matters most is that it tells a proper story.

We want characters worth caring about, chemistry that does not feel as though it was assembled from flat-pack instructions, and writing that makes the reader forget they were only going to look at one more page before bed.

Your story might explore a first visit to a club, a long-standing fantasy finally becoming real, a couple discovering something new together or two strangers meeting under unusual circumstances. It may be subtle and suggestive or considerably less shy. We are open to different voices, relationships, orientations and perspectives, provided everyone involved is a consenting adult.

Most importantly, it should be your story, told in your way.

New writers are very welcome

You do not need a publishing history, an agent or an impressive collection of rejection letters tied together with ribbon. If you can tell a compelling story, we would like to read it.

Writing erotic fiction can feel surprisingly exposing. You are not merely arranging words on a page; you are letting somebody wander around inside your imagination with a torch. For that reason, contributors may publish under their real name, their Swingcircles profile name or a pen name created especially for their writing.

Nobody needs to know what you have been typing after midnight unless you decide to tell them.

What to send us

We are currently inviting original short stories of approximately 1,500 to 5,000 words.

Stories should be:

  • Written for an adult audience.
  • Original and owned by you.
  • Centred on adult characters who are clearly aged 18 or over.
  • Consensual, inclusive and legal.
  • Submitted as a Word document or in another accessible text format.
  • Accompanied by a title, a short introduction and the name or pen name you would like us to use.

We are looking for genuine personal creativity. If you have used generative AI while developing or editing your story, please tell us when submitting it. Work copied from another writer, website or published story will not be accepted.

We will not publish material involving anyone under 18, characters whose age is deliberately unclear, sexual exploitation, bestiality, unlawful content, hate material or identifiable real people used without permission.

From the website to the bookshelf

Selected stories may be published in the Swingcircles fiction section, where members can discover new writers and enjoy something more imaginative than another evening of doom-scrolling.

However, we have a slightly larger ambition waiting in the wings.

In the future, we would like to produce a Swingcircles collection of original erotic short stories. Writers whose work appears on the site may be invited to have their story included in that book.

Submitting a story does not automatically give us permission to put it in the collection. If we would like to include your work, we will contact you separately with a proper publishing agreement setting out how the story will be used, how you will be credited and whether any fee, royalty or other payment applies. No trapdoors, no rights-grabbing and no mysterious small print wearing a false moustache.

Ready to submit?

Send your story using the link at the bottom of this post (guest-stories@swingcircles.com) Please include a short note about yourself, although you are entirely welcome to keep your public identity behind a pen name.

Every submission will be read, but publication is not guaranteed. We may suggest edits where we think a story could be strengthened, and nothing will be materially changed without speaking to you first.

So, open that suspiciously named folder, finish the scene you have been avoiding and let your imagination off its lead.

We would love to see where it goes. If you make it into the book, we may offer some free membership months!

Erotic Fiction Submission Terms and Conditions

These terms apply to stories submitted to Swingcircles, operated by [insert legal entity name]. By submitting a story, you confirm that you have read and accepted them.

1. Who may submit

You must be aged 18 or over to submit work.

All characters involved in sexual or romantic activity must be clearly presented as adults aged 18 or over. Swingcircles may reject or remove any submission that creates uncertainty about a character’s age.

2. Your ownership

You retain copyright and ownership of your story.

Submitting your work does not transfer its copyright to Swingcircles. You remain free to publish, licence, adapt or sell the story elsewhere, subject to any separate agreement you may later enter into.

3. Your promises to us

By submitting a story, you confirm that:

  • You created the work and own or control the rights necessary to submit it.
  • The story has not been copied from another person or source.
  • Publication will not infringe another person’s copyright, privacy or other legal rights.
  • Any co-author or other rights holder has agreed to the submission.
  • Any use of generative AI has been disclosed to us.
  • The story does not identify or portray a real person without the necessary permission.
  • The story does not contain unlawful, defamatory, hateful or exploitative material.
  • Every character involved in sexual activity is an adult.

You must tell us promptly if you discover that any of these statements may be incorrect.

4. Permission to publish on Swingcircles

If we accept your story, you grant Swingcircles a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to:

  • Publish and display the story on the Swingcircles website and any future official Swingcircles app.
  • Format the story so that it displays correctly.
  • Use the title, a short extract and your chosen author name to promote the story through Swingcircles-owned newsletters and social-media accounts.
  • Retain reasonable administrative and backup copies.

“Non-exclusive” means that you continue to own the story and may use or publish it elsewhere.

This licence does not give Swingcircles permission to include your complete story in a printed book, ebook, audiobook or paid anthology. Those uses require a separate written agreement.

5. Editing

We may correct spelling, punctuation, formatting and obvious typographical errors.

We will ask for your approval before making substantial changes to the plot, characters, meaning or tone. We may also return a story with suggested revisions or decline it if it is not suitable for Swingcircles.

6. Credit and pen names

You may be credited using your real name, Swingcircles profile name, a pen name or “Anonymous”.

You must tell us which name you wish to use before publication. Swingcircles will not intentionally reveal your legal identity publicly when you have asked to use a pen name, although we may need to retain your real contact details privately for administration, rights management or legal compliance.

7. Payment

Submitting a story does not create an entitlement to payment.

If a fee is offered for website publication, it will be agreed with you in writing before publication. Any proposed payment, royalty or revenue share connected with a Swingcircles book or other commercial edition will be covered by a separate agreement.

8. Possible inclusion in a Swingcircles book

Publication on the website does not guarantee inclusion in a future Swingcircles short-story collection.

If we wish to include your story in a book, ebook, audiobook or other commercial collection, we will ask for your express agreement. That agreement will set out the formats, territory, length of the licence, credit, editing arrangements and any applicable payment or royalties.

You may decline the invitation without affecting the ownership of your story.

9. Withdrawal

You may withdraw a story before it is published by contacting us through [insert submissions contact or form link].

After website publication, you may ask us to remove it. We will normally remove the public version within 30 days, although temporary technical, cached and backup copies may remain until they are routinely overwritten.

If the story is included in a book or another separately licensed publication, withdrawal will be governed by the separate agreement for that publication.

10. Editorial decisions and removal

Submission does not guarantee publication.

Swingcircles may reject, postpone, unpublish or remove a story where we reasonably believe it:

  • Breaches these terms or our site policies.
  • Creates a legal or safeguarding concern.
  • Infringes somebody else’s rights.
  • Is unsuitable for the Swingcircles audience.
  • Could damage the safety, reputation or operation of the community.

Where appropriate, we will explain the decision to the writer.

11. Personal information

We will use the information supplied with your submission to review the work, contact you, manage publication and keep appropriate rights records.

Personal information will be handled in accordance with the Swingcircles Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to these terms

The version of these terms in force when you submit your story will apply to that submission.

We will not retrospectively expand the rights granted to us without obtaining your agreement.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction over disputes relating to them, subject to any legal rights that cannot be excluded.
