Our Commitment
At Circles, we believe everyone should be able to access our platform with dignity, confidence and independence. We are committed to making our website as accessible and inclusive as reasonably possible, regardless of ability, technology or the way someone chooses to browse the web.
Accessibility is not a one-time task. It is an ongoing commitment that forms part of how we design, develop and improve the Circles platform.
Accessibility Standards
Circles is built using WordPress and follows recognised web accessibility best practices wherever reasonably practicable.
Our aim is to support the principles of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, which are widely recognised as the international standard for accessible websites. While not every page or feature may achieve complete compliance at all times, accessibility is considered throughout the design and development process.
Browser and Device Compatibility
Circles is designed to work with modern web browsers and a wide range of desktop, tablet and mobile devices.
Where possible, we aim to support:
- Current versions of Chrome
- Firefox
- Microsoft Edge
- Safari
The website is designed using responsive layouts so content remains usable across different screen sizes.
Accessibility Features
Where appropriate, Circles incorporates accessibility features including:
- Clear and consistent page layouts.
- Logical heading structures.
- Keyboard-accessible navigation wherever possible.
- Descriptive page titles.
- Meaningful link text.
- Alternative text for informative images.
- Sufficient colour contrast to improve readability.
- Forms with clearly associated labels and instructions.
- Content that can be resized using standard browser controls without significant loss of functionality.
- Support for common assistive technologies, including screen readers where reasonably practical.
WordPress Accessibility
Circles is built on WordPress, a platform with a strong commitment to accessibility.
Where practical, we use accessibility-ready themes, plugins and development practices. Basically, any custom functionality developed specifically for Circles is designed with accessibility in mind and is tested during development.
Because third-party plugins and services are sometimes beyond our direct control, there may occasionally be accessibility limitations introduced by external software. Where issues are identified, we will work with the relevant provider or implement alternative solutions whenever possible.
AI and Accessibility
As Circles evolves, we may use artificial intelligence to improve user experience and accessibility features. AI may assist with tasks such as generating image descriptions, improving content quality or identifying accessibility issues during development.
AI is intended to support accessibility, not replace human judgement.
Ongoing Improvements
Accessibility is continually reviewed as new features are added to the platform.
We regularly consider:
- User feedback.
- Changes to accessibility standards.
- Browser compatibility updates.
- Improvements to design and navigation.
- Updates to WordPress and third-party components.
Known Limitations
Although we aim to provide an accessible experience, some older content or third-party services may not yet meet every accessibility requirement.
If you encounter any difficulty accessing content or using any feature of the website, we would like to know so we can investigate and, where possible, improve the experience.
Feedback
We welcome feedback from all users.
If you experience an accessibility issues or have difficulty using any part of Circles, or have suggestions that could improve accessibility, please contact us through our support page.
We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports promptly and will make reasonable efforts to resolve confirmed issues as quickly as practicable.
Continuous Commitment
Accessibility is part of our commitment to building a respectful, welcoming and inclusive community. We will continue reviewing, testing and improving the platform so that Circles remains accessible to as many people as possible.
